Compressed Biogas
COMPRESSED BIOGAS (CBG)
Compressed Biogas consists mainly of methane (90%) and other gases like carbon dioxide (close to 4%). CBG is produced through anaerobic digestion of biomass and waste sources. Common feedstock sources for biogas production include agricultural residues, organic waste, and animal dung. Cow dung is a widely used feedstock in rural biogas plants. Use of Napier grass is gaining momentum in industrial segment due to its sustainability.
CBG AT DEPL
The company aims to undertake integrated Bio-Energy Project based on Napier Grass through optimal utilisation of locally available resources. The first facility aims to produce 20 TPD of CBG using napier grass as a feedstock. Napier grass is a productive and versatile forage grass native to Africa and southeast Asia. Due to its high yield, it is widely used as feed for livestock and in bioenergy applications. Napier grass promises a high content of easily digestible organic matter, along with high yields and the ability to withstand drought conditions. These qualities make it an excellent feedstock for anaerobic digestion processes.
The by-products of the CBG plant also include supply of solid and liquid fertilizer that can facilitate farmers undertaking cultivation of organic feedstock.
